SHOCK SERVICE AND REPAIR

Motorcycle shocks have a very improtant role in that they help absorb impacts, maintain stability and traction whilst riding. They do a lot of work and the internals of all shocks should be maintained to ensure they perform at their best.

Over time the shock oil looses its effectiveness as it picks up fine particals of dirt, moisture and metal. Dirty shock oil acts more like a fine abrasive paste wearing the internal bushes and increasing tolerances inside the shock which leads to loss of damping.

Regular maintenance of your shock will help to ensure your bike performs at its best, keeping you in control.

We undertake full shock rebuilds, refurbishment, re-valve and re-gasing services. A full shock rebuild requires a complete strip down, all components are carefully cleaned and inspected for wear. Oil seals, bushes and O-rings are replaced. The piston rod is polished and the shock is then reassembled and carefully bled using high performance K-Tech shock oil which is specially developed to provide consistent damping even at high temperatures.

All shocks are then re-pressurised with 100% pure nitrogen gas and tested. If your shock spring is looking worse for wear we can get shock springs re-powder coated to a colour of your choice.

Please call to discuss your specific motorcycle shock rebuild /refurbishment requirements.

We can rebuild most shock which include: K-Tech, Bitubo, Showa, Tractive, YSS, Ohlins, Penske, Sachs, Nitron, KYB, Soqi, and WP. For those who wish to send their shock in the post we advice that you call us before hand. Please incude a note with all your contact details, the make, model and year of your bike.
